A Note from the Photographer
When we did their engagement photos last fall, the wedding date had not been set yet. So when I got a message from Zaida in the new year letting me know that they had set a date, decided to get married in Banff and wanted me to be their wedding photographer, I was so excited!
So after getting ready at the Rimrock and having an intimate church ceremony surrounded by a few friends and family members, they brought me along on their limo ride for the afternoon. We got to hang out just the three of us – and our fantastic driver Roger – cruising around and taking pictures surrounded by really incredible mountain views.
The forecast wasn’t the greatest and the weather in the mountains is always unpredictable, so we had a trunk full of umbrellas, which we did not end up needing! Their wedding day turned out to be the most perfect day one could have dreamed of. It was so beautiful.
And for just a short moment, the snow started falling and it felt like time stood still. Just the two of them and the love they have for one another.
Congratulations Zaida and Liam! Thank you so much for asking me to hang out with you in the stunning mountains around Banff on your wedding day!

Banff was such a fantastic place for your wedding! We got all of the mountain views for your bridal portraits, you had your ceremony in a church, and got ready and had the reception in a fabulous hotel. What did you think of your overall Banff wedding experience?
“It was so beautiful and everything went so smoothly (big kuddos to Ashley, our planner)! Even though we did find Banff to be a bit pricier than other alternatives, we landed on Banff because we thought of how blessed we were for having one of the most beautiful wedding destination spots in the world right in our backyard. We loved every minute of it, the pictures, the church, the venue, and we are so grateful we were able to pick Banff as our wedding location.”

How did you feel after the ceremony, when you were finally Mr. and Mrs.?
“We had a huge sigh of “finally”, and it felt right! So right, that the excitement and happiness kept me warm all through our outdoor photo session. Even Liam was impressed I wasn’t too bothered by the cold (haha)!”

What was the best part of your day (if you can even pick one)?
“It is so hard to pick, we truly loved every moment of the day. Still, if we did have to pick, we would have to say the food (cake, dinner, snacks, cookies, treats!) it was all so delicious!”

“We were honoured to have you as our photographer on our special day Valerie. You are such a breath of fresh air, and the passion you have for your artistry is something that truly inspires! The love, happiness and attention you give to your clients can be noted on every photo! Thank you so much for being there for us.”
