Kananaskis Country, Alberta
This family came to Alberta for their summer vacation. I love when people from out of town reach out to plan a photo session while they are travelling to the mountains. I mean, it would be hard to find a more picturesque backdrop than this for family photos!
That evening was so warm, and a little smokey. The haze filtered the sun rays in a beautiful way to create such a unique look. I have learned over the years to embrace the weird weather curve balls that Alberta throws at us and it has allowed my work to be so diverse. I can’t even begin to list all of the different lighting and weather conditions I have experienced being a family photographer in Calgary and Kananaskis Country.
But back to this amazing family. They were so much fun and their kids were ridiculously adorable. You could tell that they were totally in their element and their personalities really shone the entire time we were together, with some additional highlights here and there like this gem of a capture!
I am so looking forward to many more hot summer nights in Kananaskis Country, taking photos of families while they enjoy everything awesome about our Canadian Rockies.
