Jojo’s Zoom Crew

YYC Connections

Jojo and I connected through the new app Back2Local that encourages their members to support local Calgary businesses by offering various deals. The first social media post I saw on Jojo’s Instagram page was about moving her fitness business to an online platform. She wanted to offer her clients a consistent way to focus on their health and fitness goals during the pandemic and its constant yo-yo battle of opening and closing fitness facilities. It also gave her more freedom, more time for herself, her family, allowed her to make her own schedule and actually have days off of exercise (she had actually been going months without a single rest day). Her post totally resonated with me and we started chatting.

Let’s Climb Up

When she told me that she wanted new branding photos in the mountains, her “happy place”, I immediately knew where we should go. And I wanted to go up! Because when you get to work with a woman that fit, it’s a no brainer! She absolutely rocked the shoot and she was so much fun to hang out with. I wanted you to get to know her a little better too, so scroll down to learn more about her new business venture.

How did JoJo’s Zoom Crew get started?

“I started JoJo’s zoom crew in November, 2020.  This was when the gyms and studios had shut down for a second time.  At that point, I made the decision to shift my fitness classes to exclusively be online.  I didn’t want me, or my clients to give up on their fitness goals.  I knew this was the right decision, as the restrictions caused a lot of uncertainty in the industry, and it was affecting people’s mental health as well as physical and emotional health.  Within a few short months, my community has grown to not only offer live streamed classes, but also an extensive “On Demand” library, which is ideal for clients who can’t always make the live streamed classes.”

Which class do you love teaching most?

“That’s a tough question to answer, as I love teaching all of them. I guess if I HAD to choose, I’d say ABC (arms/booty/core)..but I also love teaching BARRE and a good leg day!!”

Her workouts are AMAZING! You can check out her platform Me.onpodio.com/jojo. If you’ve never worked out with her and message her directly, you can even get a free trial class (but beware, chances are you’ll completely get hooked)! So I obviously think she’s awesome, but I also wanted to include a little something someone else said about her.

When I signed up for JoJo’s monthly membership, I was really just looking for an opportunity to get some fitness back into my life in a safe manner with an instructor that I knew I really benefited from!  The unexpected feeling of community, despite the fact that it is virtual, has been a very welcomed surprise!  JoJo has created an environment that has a true team feeling and I am very grateful for that.  On top of all that, I am feeling stronger, walking taller, and have more energy (unless it is after a particularly difficult butt kicking class)!

And since I’ve already touched on how we got connected by supporting local, she has also partnered up with another local business Bare Activeware to offer you a discount. Just use this link and 10% off will be applied at checkout.
