A Note from the Photographer

Megan and Levi’s wedding day checklist had a lot on it and they achieved absolutely everything they wanted. And they did it all in a perfect “this is us” kind of way.

Getting ready at home. Check.

Church ceremony. Check.

Modern portraits. Check.

Long limo ride to get to their out of town venue so they get a long (and not a short) limo ride. Check.

Big enough venue to accommodate their huge group of Nuts (this will be referred at the end and makes complete sense I promise). Check.

And then they had it all. Meaningful words. So much love. Big laughs. Loud music. Happy everything.

How did they achieve all that?

They gave themselves time. Time to get from their home to their downtown church ceremony to the Central Library and Platform Innovation Centre for portraits. Time to blast music during the limo ride (where do I leave a 5 star review for whomever was in charge of the playlist?). Time to settle in and celebrate at Mickelson National Golf Club with all of their people.

We had so much fun taking photos with the bridal party, and when the sun started dropping, she stepped into that golden light and absolutely owned it. The veil, the glow, the confidence — it was unreal. She looked like an actual angel and somehow still completely herself.

It was. All. So. Magical.

How did you feel when Megan walked down the aisle with her parents and you finally got to hold hands and stand in front of all your loved ones to say “I do”?

“I remember feeling nervous but when the doors opened and I saw Megan in her dress for the first time, time seemed to pause and my nerves went away, as did everyone in the room. It felt like it was just me and her. Megan looked stunning!!! I think I was a little stunned.”

You each had two of your favourite people in your bridal party. How amazing was it to have them at your side? What are your bridal party highlights?

“Having my two favourite people by my side was honestly one of the most special parts of the whole experience. I had my best friend and one of my longest, dearest friendships standing with me — two women who know me so deeply and have been part of so many chapters of my life. There’s something incredibly grounding about looking over and seeing faces that have loved and supported you for years.

They each brought something completely different (and equally important!) to the day. One brought the energy, the fun, and all the hype-girl moments — she kept the excitement high and made sure we were laughing constantly. The other brought the organization and calmness I didn’t even realize I needed — she was my steady presence and helped keep everything flowing smoothly. Together, they were the perfect balance.

Some of my favourite bridal party highlights were getting ready together at home that morning — it felt intimate, relaxed, and full of happy anticipation. The drinks the night before the wedding were also so special, soaking in those final pre-wedding moments together. And of course, the limo ride to Mickelson was such a fun, surreal moment — all of us together, dressed up, on our way to one of the biggest moments of my life. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else by my side.” – M

“Couldn’t have asked for two better people to stand beside me.”

How was your overall experience at the Mickelson National Golf Club?

“Our overall experience at Mickelson National Golf Club was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, everything felt seamless and so thoughtfully executed. Our event coordinator, Danielle, was incredible to work with — organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure our day was exactly what we envisioned. She made the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free.

The food was outstanding — we’re still hearing from guests about how amazing it was! Every detail we had discussed in advance was handled flawlessly, which allowed us to truly relax and be present on the day. The setting itself is stunning, and the level of service we received made the whole experience even more special. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue.”

What was your favourite part of your wedding day – if you can even pick one?!

It’s so hard to pick just one moment, but if I had to, it would be walking down the aisle toward my husband. In that moment, it honestly felt like the world stood still. Everything else faded away, and it was just the two of us — such a surreal, emotional, and incredibly special feeling that I’ll never forget.

Another favourite part was being able to share our love with all of our family and friends. Looking around and seeing everyone who showed up to support us was so overwhelming in the best way. It really put into perspective how loved and supported we are.

And I have to mention the “Nut” song that Levi’s family performed to welcome me into the family. It was such a fun, heartfelt, and memorable moment — something so uniquely “us” that made the day even more meaningful. The reception as a whole was a lot of fun celebrating with everyone!”
