The Stone Family Over the Years

My latest session with the Stone family was to celebrate Rory’s third birthday. I can’t believe that he is already so big! I have been taking photos of him since he was still in his mommy’s belly and between updating his adorable portraits and capturing photos of his baby sister as well, I have been able to catch up with this family on a regular basis over the last few years. I wanted to do something a little different for this post so decided to pull some stuff from the archives because I love seeing all of the memories that I have been able to capture for them put together in one place. So here is a little sample of the Stone family over the last three years.

Rebecca and Brent’s Maternity Session

That year was super smokey but we really lucked out that night because the smoke wasn’t so bad, just enough had been scooped up into the air to turn the sun a gorgeous orange tone. We split the session between two locations – Reader Rock gardens and East Village.

Rory’s Newborn Session

Such an adorable baby… who really did not want to go to sleep! He preferred to show me his beautiful eyes for most of the time that I was there, but he eventually settled when his parents put him in his favourite chair. I have to admit that I have been in love with those eyes since that day, but also that I should have known that Rory was going to make me chase him around for our sessions as soon as he would learn how to walk (run)!

Rory’s Milestone Session at 8 Months Old

I love when families book a “Grow With Me” plan because it allows me to see how much their little one grows and changes in the first year, but also because it comes with a beautiful photo album. I LOVE being able to design those albums for you. They are the best keepsakes. But I give you the high resolution files hoping that you will also print and frame some yourselves. Pictures are so much better once they are printed!

Rory Is Already 2

His grandma bought him a tiny kilt for his second birthday and that little Scottish guy sure pulled it off. I spent a couple of hours chasing him around at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and St Patrick’s Island. I have to say that I am also a big fan of the beach boy look!

Rebecca’s Second Maternity Shoot with a Little Christmas Flair

I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to plan for Christmas photos last year, but after it was requested by a couple of families, I decided to throw something together. I used my contacts – yes, I’m kind of a big deal!! – and I was able to use Teatro in the afternoon before they opened for dinner service. It has to be the most gorgeous venue in the city. And the timing was just right around Christmas time to get those perfect round belly shots.

Celeste’s Newborn Session

Welcome to the Stone family baby Celeste! Rory is such a good big brother, he fell in love with his baby sister form the moment he met her. And again, his eyes are simply the most beautiful!

And Here We Are – Rory is 3

It took a lot of convincing to get him to give up his toy car – actually it took finding water and rocks to throw in it – but I am so glad that he kept it with him because that is what he likes. Right now. At three years old. And those things change so quickly, it is so important to hold on to those memories. He has also become a much faster runner and a much more agile climber since last year! We had such a blast with the whole family at Fish Creek to celebrate his birthday and I can’t wait to see them all again.

Side note – can you spot the picture where I asked him to go give his mommy a hug, but he instead decided to give her a new hairdo?
